We've updated the maps throughout Place Forecast and created a video demonstrating how to use Place Forecast.
Enhanced Map Experience
Satellite view toggle — Switch between street and satellite views using the 🛰️ button. Satellite imagery helps you see the actual terrain, development patterns, and land use in your areas.
Area highlighting — Single-click any area on the map to highlight it, and it will also highlight in the list. Or click the compass icon in the list to highlight the corresponding area on the map. Click again to toggle the highlight off.
Map tips — Look for the tips icon near maps for a quick reference on navigation: double-click to open an area's detail page, single-click to highlight, and use the controls on the left to switch to fullscreen, satellite view, or reset your view.
Place Forecast Demo
We've created a walkthrough video to help you get the most out of Place Forecast. It covers navigating the app, accessing public forecasts, and understanding the key features. If you have never had an introduction to a forecast, or you need a refresher on how to use it, you'd only have to spend 12 minutes of your time to watch the video. (Of course, if you'd prefer us demonstrating Place Forecast to you live, then reply to this email and we'll schedule a demo for you.)
The holiday season is approaching fast, and we are juggling lots of things at once: besides further development of the forecast, meeting current and potential future clients, and handling all kinds of business stuff, there's the usual holiday chaos: school concerts, family gatherings, and the eternal quest to find a parking spot at the shops.
The truth is that we're tired. It's been a big year, and while we're proud of what we've built, we're ready for some quiet time. We hope you get to slow down soon, too.
