Abbreviated as LGA
A local government area (LGA) is the area run by a local council. The ABS is not the source of LGA boundaries, but it does publish data at this level. Place Forecast builds the LGA from mesh blocks that fall within it.
Each forecast covers one LGA. The LGA is the outer limit for the forecast. All small areas, SA2s, SA1s, and mesh blocks sit inside this boundary.
