The net migration report shows in-migration, out-migration, and net migration over time.
Net migration is in-migration minus out-migration. A number above zero means more people moved in than out. A number below zero means more people moved out. Net migration is often the biggest driver of population growth or decline. Along with natural change, it makes up annual population change. At the small area level, net migration is often the main reason a place grows or shrinks.
