Projected in-migration uses the in-migration age profile carried forward from the jump-off year by the cohort-component method.
In-migration is one of the four components of population change. Along with births, it adds people to the area. The gap between in-migration and out-migration is net migration. This is often the biggest driver of local growth or decline.
